Health Insurance - Effective July 1, 2007,
Region Ten staff salaried at 50% or more are eligible for
their choice of three Southern Health Insurance Plans.

Coverage
effective date is the first day of the month after you have
completed one FULL month of employment, i.e., if you begin
a paid position on December 1 your coverage begins January
1. If, however, you begin a paid position on December 14,
you must wait until February 1 to begin coverage. There is
NO ONGOING ENROLLMENT. If you decline at initial enrollment,
you may not apply again until the next Open Enrollment Period
for the agency.
Each
employee has the option of deducting their share of the premium
in tax-free dollars under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue
Tax Code.

Coverage is effective after a wait period of 3 full calendar months,
i.e., coverage begins on October 1 with hire date of
July 1.
VRS
A full-time Employee must participate in the Virginia Retirement
System (VRS). HOWEVER, an employee who is salaried at less
than 100% time cannot participate in the Retirement System.
At
70% time:
o The employee is not eligible for VRS Retirement.
o The employee is not eligible for VRS Life Insurance.
o The employee is not eligible for VRS Disability Coverage.
SICK LEAVE = 5.6 hrs. each month, there is
no max or cap on sick earnings
ANNUAL LEAVE = 5.6 hrs. each month, years 0-5, max = 84.00 hrs.
= 7.0 hrs. each month, years 5-10, max = 105.00 hrs.
= 8.40 hrs. each month, years 10-15, max = 126.00 hrs.
= 9.8 hrs. each month, years 15-20, max 147.00 hrs.
= 11.20 hrs. each month, years 20-25, max = 168.00 hrs.
= 12.60 hrs. each month, years 25+, max = 189.00 hrs.

LEAVE = earnings max is 28.00 hours total
HOLIDAY
LEAVE = A Holiday is equal to 5.6 hours
