How can I obtain an application?
  There are several options for obtaining an application:

Can I attach a resume to my application?
  Yes, a resume may accompany your application. A resume cannot be used in place of an application. All positions require a Region Ten Community Services Board application.

Can I apply for more than one position at a time?
  Yes. You may apply for as many open positions as you wish. A copy of your application (and resume if applicable) will be sent to the hiring supervisor(s).

Should I call to verify that my application is received?
  Notice is mailed out to you the day a completed application is received in Human Resources.

What would constitute an incomplete application?
  An Application would be considered incomplete for any of the following reasons:
1. Incomplete address or phone number
2. Failure to sign an application sent by mail or in person
3. For on line applications, failure to indicate the date at the bottom of the last page
4. Failure to indicate whether applicant has been convicted of a criminal violation, excluding juvenile offenses
5. Failure to specify a position. A vague statement such as working in the MR field is not sufficient
6. Failure to specify a position that is currently being recruited
7. A resume that is not accompanied by a Region Ten Community Services Board application
8. An application received for a position with a specified deadline that has past

Will I be notified if my application is incomplete?
  Yes. If the address is complete on the application, you will receive a notice by mail stating that your application has been received incomplete. Human Resources also tries to call you to obtain the correct information.

How long do you retain incomplete applications?
  Incomplete applications and resumes are kept in Human Resources for one month. They are then shredded to protect your privacy.

How long are applications kept on file?
  Human Resources keeps your application on file for six months. During this time, you may call and ask to have your application sent to another hiring supervisor fr an open position.

Can I update my application at any time?
  Yes. You may do this by calling Human Resources. It is always best to inform Human Resources if you change your address or phone number and still have an application on file. You can make those changes by phone. If you wish to add additional qualifications or skills, however, you will need do so in person or submit a new application.

I have been convicted of a crime. Does that mean that I cannot work at Region Ten Community Services Board?
  It depends on whether or not the crime is a barrier crime.

I do not drive. Does that mean that I cannot work for Region Ten Community Services Board?
  The answer depends on the position. It is stated in the position's detail job description if a license is required.

I have recorded several traffic violations. Can I still work at Region Ten Community Services Board?
  It depends on the violation and the time frame. A Division of Motor Vehicle record is required for any position that requires a driver’s license.

Is there a deadline for submitting an application?
  Certain positions have a deadline stated in the advertisement. If a deadline is stated, applications must be postmarked by that date. Currently, most positions do not have deadlines. *

*Although most positions do not have deadlines, the cut off is noon on Friday to have your application sent to the hiring supervisor for an open position.

What happens if I submit an application after 12:00 noon on a Friday?
  Your application will be sent to the hiring supervisor the next Friday.

Will Human Resources call me to set up an interview?
  Once the hiring supervisor receives all the applications, he/she will call to set up interviews with applicants.

Can I contact the hiring supervisor myself?

Should I call to check up on my application?
  You are welcome to call Human Resources to check on the status of your application at any time. However, chances are that the only information we will be able to provide is the date your application was sent to the hiring supervisor.

Will I be notified when the position has been filled?
  Yes. Once an application is returned to Human Resources a letter is mailed indicating that a selection has been made.

Should I reapply for a position if I see that it is listed again?
  The hiring supervisor may simply not have made a decision or had to postpone the hiring process. In this case, your application is still being considered along with any new applicants. Call Human Resources to check on the status of the position.

When is Orientation?
  Orientation takes places every Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., if there are two or more new employees. Dress is business casual. You will be given a green card that lists the documents you will need to bring. If you qualify for benefits, a benefit orientation will follow the initial orientation from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
