Meeting Minutes

Items covered during the meeting:

I.           Meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m.

II.         Everyone in the room introduced him/herself for the record.

III.       Minutes for October, 2014 meeting were approved.

IV.        Human Rights Advocates Report-  

 Mark Seymour -

-Commented on Commissioner Ferguson’s report that there were 37,000 Emergency Service contacts in October and 6,899 emergency evaluations.  1st quarter report shows that no one had been denied a bed, which is good news.

 Chuck Colllins –

-Reported he had an exit interview with Commissioner Ferguson, and shared some of his concerns/suggestions with her.

-Will be retiring the end of February. 

-Mark Seymour will be covering

 Comments from Affiliates- None noted.

 V.        Annual Reports from Affiliated Providers – Annual Reports from Arc of the Piedmont, Rescare, Family Preservation, Fair Winds, Wall Residences were given.  Not in attendance was VABODE.  This will be carried over to the April meeting.

VI.       Quarterly Reports – The following reports were not received, Blue Ridge First Step, ARS Pantops Clinic, CAVA, REACH, Arc of the Piedmont and VABODE.

 VII.    Business-   

Region Ten – Requested approval for 2 protective restraints – approved for 1 year.

Wall Residences – Notification of change of address for sponsored provider (1426 Westwood Road – Charlottesville, VA).  Notification of new sponsored provider:  Carmen Ellis – 12226 Foxden Lane, Orange, VA

Arc of the Piedmont – Notification to add new sponsored provider (Isley Residence – 110 Elkhorn Road – Charlottesville, VA) and request approval for two protective restraints.  – Approved for 1 year.

ARS Pantops Clinic - Request approval of patient handbook.  Approval was given, along with a few suggestions for minor changes.

Family and Adolescent Services – Requested affiliation – Approval given. 

Rescare – Notification of change of address (183 Pantops Road – Charlottesville, VA).  Also gave notification of intent to use YSIS (Your Safe I’m Safe)


The LHRC Meeting was adjourned.

 The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015
