Program Description

Program Description

A treatment group for adult women who are identified as being chemically dependent or who are diagnosed as abusing substances.

The group meets one day a week on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30 am. The program is 12 weeks long though most consumers take a bit longer to complete as they must complete twelve groups and therefore missed groups do not count towards their twelve weeks.

The participants need to demonstrate that they can maintain sobriety for a period of time (not determined, may vary from consumer to consumer) and can be successful in a once a week outpatient program. Relapses must be processed in group. Continued relapse may indicate a need for a higher level of treatment such as inpatient or an Intensive Outpatient Program.

This group is designed to meet the needs of women who need to focus on both addiction needs and issues common with personality disordered population. There is heavy focus on relationships and maintaining recovery.

Group Times
Wednesday 9:30-10:30 am

Population Served

Women experiencing impairment(s) in social, vocational, and/or family functioning who have a DSM-IV substance abuse/substance dependence diagnosis and traits associated with Personality Disorders or a DSM-IV personality disorder diagnosis.

Prefer that the women have had an extended period of sobriety that was not the result of incarceration. An individual with a period of abstinence who recently relapsed may be deemed appropriate for this group.

Participants must have a willingness, ability, and capacity to work toward treatment goals in an outpatient setting.
