DESCRIPTION:Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is the most widely used intervention skills workshop in the U.S.  \nThe two-day intensive and practice-dominated course is designed to help give caregivers: \n\nRecognize the risk for suicide\nIntervene to prevent immediate harm\nCreate a “safety for now” plan\nLink persons with thoughts of suicide to appropriate help and community resources.\n\nWHO:  ASIST is often used by professionals in a variety of school\, mental health\, justice\, medical\, clergy\, or other community “front line” positions. It is for all caregivers\, regardless of the age group served. It is also appropriate for friends or family members who are interested in learning skills to help their loved ones at risk of suicide. \nWHEN:                                       \n*You must attend both full-day sessions. SUMMARY:Adult Mental Health First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid 2.0 is a hybrid offering of the original Mental Health First Aid course that teaches you how to identify\, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. \nIn Mental Health First Aid 2.0\, participants will need to complete a 2-hour\, self-paced class online BEFORE participating in the 5 hour Instructor-led  in-person course. DESCRIPTION:SafeTALK teaches suicide alertness. Participants learn how to identify persons who may be thinking of suicide and four basic steps to begin the helping process. They also learn how to activate a suicide alert that connects the person who is thinking about suicide with resources who can complete the helping process.
