Thursday, February 19th, 2026 from 9AM until 5PM
About the Course: Workshop Summary/Synopsis: This beginner-level training provides clinicians with a foundational understanding of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based approach for treating emotion dysregulation and complex behavioral patterns. Participants will gain insight into the biosocial theory that underpins DBT, explore its unique treatment structure—including individual therapy, skills group, phone coaching, and consultation team—and begin practicing key strategies from each of the four core skills modules: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through case examples and hands-on application, attendees will develop confidence in teaching DBT skills, using validation and mindfulness to strengthen the therapeutic alliance, and conducting behavioral chain analyses to address self-destructive or ineffective behaviors. This training prepares clinicians to incorporate DBT-informed strategies into their work with adolescents and adults in both individual and group settings.
Target Audience: Behavioral Health Professionals
Content Level: Beginner
