Problem Gambling: An Introduction to an Evolving Challenge
The concept of “gambling” has undergone significant changes in recent years. In the past, if someone were to picture a person struggling with a gambling problem, they would likely envision someone spending too much money at the casino or buying too many scratch off tickets. While those situations still exist, changes in technology, legislation, and accessibility have opened new and concerning avenues towards problem gambling behavior.
This free virtual presentation is a conversation at what this new environment in our society looks like. From video games, to smartphones, to the stock exchange, Region Ten’s Prevention Specialist Spenser Kennedy will examine what these new methods look like, why they are concerning, what problem gambling looks like, and what resources are available to help someone in need.
Two sessions are currently being offered to help accommodate your schedule. The first will be on March 21st from 1PM until 2:30PM. The second will be March 23rd from 6PM until 7:30PM. There will be an opportunity for questions and conversation at the end of the presentation.
