What drew you to the behavioral health field? My personal experiences with mental health made it important for me to gain a deeper understanding of myself and discover ways to grow and cope more effectively.
What are some of the highlights over your professional career? I believe the most meaningful part of my work as a case manager has been helping individuals find long-term placements. It brings me so much joy to see them thrive in supportive environments where they can truly flourish. Another significant milestone for me has been becoming a team lead on the ID/DD Case Management team. When I first started my job, everything was new and sometimes overwhelming. Now, it feels great to be on the other side, helping my colleagues navigate challenges, strategize solutions, and be a supportive presence for the team.
What do you enjoy about your work at Region Ten? What I have loved most about working at Region Ten is the flexibility of my job, the support of my colleagues, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping individuals and families.
What does Developmental Disability Awareness Month mean to you? This month is about advocacy and inclusion. Everyone deserves access to support, opportunities, and the ability to live as autonomously as they desire. It is essential that person-centered care continues to play a major role in fostering a more inclusive society.
