Region Ten Staff Profile: Jésus Cavanaugh

Every month Region Ten provides a profile of our staff members during commemorative months so that the community has a sense of the unique backgrounds and stories our staff bring to the people we serve.

Name and Position at Region Ten: Jésus Cavanaugh, Assistant Human Resources Director

Where are you from? Charlottesville, Virginia.

What are some of the highlights over your professional career? There have been many, but it’s the small victories that spring to mind. Helping staff plan for the future and navigate an ever-changing world of policy, insurance, and retirement benefits where they can approach next steps confidently has been rewarding.

What do you enjoy about your work at Region Ten? Our staff are among the brightest, most compassionate and generous people I’ve ever encountered, and to be able to support them as they support the community is a joy and an honor.

What does Black History Month mean to you? Opportunity. An opportunity to celebrate the brilliant and dynamic nature of our people, to reflect upon the sacrifices and triumphs of our ancestors, and to share in the promises of tomorrow. Also, it is an opportunity for everyone to offer gratitude for the many contributions made in pursuit of our shared American Dream and the wonders of a society made deeper, richer, and more whole by Black Americans.
