George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Atatiana Jefferson, Botham Jean, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice… the list goes on and it must stop. Region Ten’s mission of working together to enrich our community one life at a time cannot be realized without confronting the racial injustice and systemic racism that Black people have suffered from for far too long. We reject all forms of racism as destructive ​to our mission, vision, values, and goals; and acknowledge that racial trauma is harmful to our Black consumers, families, and staff. We stand in solidarity with our Black consumers, families, and staff; but merely saying that isn’t enough. Region Ten commits to addressing individual, institutional and structural racism both within our agency and in the larger community, until racial justice is achieved.
