About the Course: Workshop Summary/Synopsis: This advanced-level DBT training is designed for clinicians with foundational knowledge of DBT who are seeking to deepen their skills in working with high-risk, treatment-resistant, and complex clients. The training emphasizes maintaining fidelity to the DBT model while flexibly adapting interventions to diverse clinical presentations and settings. Participants will explore advanced behavioral analysis, crisis intervention, strategies for managing therapy-interfering behaviors, and real-time coaching to support skill generalization. The training also addresses therapist well-being, consultation team development, and program sustainability. Through applied practice, case examples, and discussion, clinicians will enhance their ability to implement DBT with integrity and responsiveness across a wide range of populations and challenges.

About The Instructor: Josh Johnson, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma-related challenges. Since 2018, she has worked across a range of settings—including community mental health and private practice—serving diverse populations in both rural and urban contexts. Her clinical approach integrates DBT, EMDR, CBT, existential, and psychodynamic therapies, with a strong emphasis on client autonomy, safety, and empowerment. In addition to her clinical practice, she has trained professionals in DBT skills and is known for her ability to connect authentically, use humor, and pace work in alignment with client readiness. Her commitment to relational depth and cultural responsiveness informs her work with high-risk and treatment-resistant clients in advanced DBT settings.
