This is a virtual training, and will be held on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025 from 9AM until 5PM.

If you are unable to attend this date, another Advanced TF-CBT course will be held on Thursday, March 19th, 2026 from 9AM until 5PM.

This course requires that you complete the Basic TF-CBT course beforehand. The following dates are for our current Basic TF-CBT course offerings:

Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 from 9AM until 5PM.

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 from 9AM until 5PM

About the Course: Workshop Summary/Synopsis: This advanced training builds upon foundational knowledge of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), offering experienced clinicians the opportunity to refine their skills, enhance complex case conceptualization, and deepen their capacity for supervision and consultation. Participants will explore the advanced application of the PRACTICE components, learning how to tailor interventions to address complex trauma presentations. The training also covers strategies for working with special populations, including children with co-occurring disorders, disrupted attachment systems, and those facing systemic barriers to care.

About The Instructor: Alicia Shawler is a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialized experience in high-acuity pediatric mental health settings. With a primary focus on adolescents, she also enjoys supporting adults in their mental health journeys. Alicia integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into her work and creates a relaxed, expressive environment by encouraging the use of fidgets, coloring, and drawing during sessions. She is passionate about working with clients who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and those navigating life with ADHD. Alicia is honored to walk alongside her clients and is committed to fostering a space of support, growth, and authenticity.
