CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (November 3, 2020)—Region Ten announced today that it will pay employees a living wage of at least $15 an hour, beginning Dec. 1, 2020.

Region Ten’s leadership team and the Board of Directors has held the increase as a long-standing priority and value.  The agency has worked diligently to add the additional expenses to the budget while remaining fiscally stable.  Even with the agency’s financial challenges this year as a result of the pandemic, Region Ten has continued to focus on how to support staff and communicate appreciation for their hard work.  This is one piece of Region Ten’s commitment to being an employer of choice that attracts and retains the best candidates in a passionate and rewarding company.

Barbara Barrett, chairperson of the Region Ten Community Services Board said, “At a time when our world is struggling with an increased need for the services Region Ten provides, it is paramount that we recognize the important role staff are making to our communities. To continue to provide these needed services, we recognize the need to employ well-trained and competent staff, so I am pleased that the Board of Directors has approved raising our wages to stay competitive in this demanding world.”
