Service Overview

The Mohr Center is a residential substance use disorder treatment program for men that provides stabilization services in order to move toward independent living free of mood altering substances; commonly referred to as Recovery. The Mohr Center also provide some limited medical monitoring and assistance with medication compliance to eliminate or reduce the effects of alcohol or other drugs, and assist with the ongoing process of withdrawal.

The Mohr Center provides residents with regular individual and group therapy sessions, life skills building, and case management services for aftercare planning. Men also attend acudetox services, recovery group meetings, and recreational activities in the community. For individuals identifying with a need for Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), Mohr Center will provide access to evaluations by Region Ten or other community providers.

What is not allowed:

  • Weapons of any type (including pocket knives).
  • Any electronic devices including cellphones, flash drives, tablets, laptops or gaming devices.
  • Medications without physician orders.
  • Clothing or accessories which display or refer to alcohol/drugs, drug paraphernalia, profane/vulgar language, deadly weapons, abusive behavior/language, or that that may be considered homophobic, racist, sexist or discriminatory in any way.
  • Pipes or Cigars
  • Energy Drinks

Eligibility Criteria
  • Completed ASAM Assessment indicating the need for 3.5 Level of Care
  • A residential screening from the individual’s home Community Services Board (CSB)
  • Medical clearance. In some instances, it may be necessary for consumers to address medical needs prior to their admission to The Mohr Center
  • Individuals with open wounds, taking any controlled medications or those requiring ongoing medical treatment, will be admitted on a case-by-case basis only
  • A supply of medications in original containers with label or prescription refills to last 30 days
  • Signed physician’s orders for all prescribed medications and any over-the-counter/PRN medications that might be needed

  • Enough clothing for 1-2 weeks. Individuals will have access to free laundry facilities on site
  • Personal Hygiene Items (Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Deodorant, Shaving Cream that is non-alcoholic, Razor with non-removable blades, etc.)
  • Photo Identification, Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards (if you have them)
  • Insurance/Medicaid Card
  • Medications and signed doctor’s orders for medications and any other medical procedures needed

The Mohr Center will provide all bedding, a pillow, body towel, hand towel and wash cloth. Mohr Center will also provide food for all meals, as well as some limited healthy snacks. The Mohr Center will not provide soft drinks, junk food, or any food that is high in sugar. However, the Mohr Center does not prepare food for individuals in treatment, as they are expected to prepare their own meals in a communal setting. Mohr staff will provide support with the development of daily living skills to include meal planning and prep. Residents may have some limited opportunities to purchase other personal items. Food may also be brought by family and friends during visitation as long as it is in the original packaging and sealed.

You will not need any money for your stay as all needs will be provided for you, but you will have opportunities to purchase items not provided by the center that you might want.

Expand Can family and/or friends visit Mohr Center? Can family and/or friends visit Mohr Center?

Visitation occurs every Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. When an individual enters treatment they will be able to identify who can visit them on these days. The Mohr Center also has a resident phone that is shared by all residents and may be used between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm during free time.

Expand Can I smoke at Mohr Center? Can I smoke at Mohr Center?

The Mohr Center does not allow the possession or use of tobacco products on the property, but there will be limited opportunities to do so off property during your stay. All tobacco products will be held by Mohr Center staff in a locked area.   During your stay, we can support you with nicotine-replacement therapy.  Nicotine patches and gum are available.  We also offer acupuncture, which has been proven to help reduce cravings.

Expand Is my service confidential? Is my service confidential?

Region Ten will not share your information without your permission unless you are experiencing a mental health crisis. Region Ten reserves the right to install and activate video monitoring of the agencies’ property to include, parking lots, driveways, courtyards, lobbies, halls, residential community, and common areas.  Residential community and common areas include living rooms, halls, kitchens, activity/computer rooms. Video monitoring will not include bedrooms or bathrooms.
